MISSION STATEMENT:

Kismana Music contributes to the universal communication of people by people of all cultures through providing quality music and personal development material to the global community.            In order to do this, Kismana Music is committed to the growth, development and support of singers, songwriters, composers, musicians and presenters.

BACKGROUND

Based in Western Australia, Kismana Music was established in November 1993 to support an independent release by Connie Kis Andersen called 'Relaxed and Ready'.  Since that time, Connie has been involved in several other local audio projects and has written over four hours of ambient background music for these releases.

Her 22 minute space ambient soundscape, 'Astral Awakenings' has been well received by local radio stations including the ABC.  Nationally, Australian SBS radio has played Astral Awakenings on its show, ALCHEMY and the composition currently remains on their playlist.  More recently, Satellite Music Australia added it to their New Age Channel playlist.

A keen singer and songwriter, Connie has recorded and performed her own material on Asian TV.     She is constantly striving to improve her songwriting skills and her blues song, 'Sad and Lonely' was a finalist in the 1998 WAM (West Australian Music Industry Association) Songwriting Competition. This song has since been signed to GOLDWAX RECORDS, an independent Record Label based in Atlanta Georgia, USA.

In 2003, Connie became involved in a long distance recording project between Broadland International located in Nashville and Canada and herself in Western Australia.  The outcome being her country debut E.P.,  Keeping It Simple to be officially launched later in 2004.  .

In 1999, Connie was honoured by her election to the WAM Board of Management.  She served as a Board member, Vice President and then President before resigning in September 2001.

She currently sits as a peer assessment panel member for ArtsWA's Contemporary Music and Arts Development Panels.

In 2003 Kismana Music was short listed from 250 nominations for the 10th West Australian State Arts Sponsorship Scheme Awards in the 'Most Innovative Partnership' Category.  (The winner being BHP Steel). 

For the sheer enjoyment of performing, Connie sings and plays acoustic guitar in her duos, a.k.a.Kis and 'Kis'n Tel' which gig regularly in and around Perth. .
